Hello everyone!

I realised it has been some time since I posted on my website (I’ve been posting fairly regularly on Twitter should you wish to follow me there: @another_tweeter).

I have been busy copyediting two books for Equinox Publishing (where I worked as a journal manager and editorial assistant until January 2018), both of which were sent to the printers on Tuesday. These are The Bible for the Curious: A Brief Encounter by the late Professor Philip Davies (which is due out in November: https://www.equinoxpub.com/home/the-bible-for-the-curious/) and Jews: Nearly Everything you Wanted To Know*… *but were too afraid to ask by Rabbi Dan Cohn-Sherbok and (philosopher) Peter Cave (also due out in November: https://www.equinoxpub.com/home/jews/). The latter also contains original cartoon illustrations by Dan Cohn-Sherbok (and lots of dry Jewish humour). I have enjoyed both tasks immensely and am very pleased with the final results of both. I am looking forward to seeing the printed copies very soon!

I have also started a new degree this September, studying Law at Manchester Metropolitan University. I hope to be able to offer proofing in this field soon, but want to familiarise myself a little more with Law before I offer this! As I am studying part time, I am still working as Proof-Ed during the day (and weekends…and any other time I may find!), so please get in touch if you would like me to read/edit/index for you!

Wishing all of my customers and new visitors to the website a very happy 2018. I hope the year has got off to a good start for you all.

From the beginning of February 2018 I have started a more full-time role at Proof-Ed which will free me up to accept a lot more work from customers than I have previously been able to take on. I am looking forward to reading new research and theses this year, and would be delighted to hear from you, whether you are a new customer or a returning one.

I would like to say a big thank you to my customers of 2017, particularly to those who have very kindly recommended my service to their friends and colleagues. It is a pleasure to be acquainted with you and to have the privilege of reading the research that you have worked so hard on.

Hi everyone,

Just a short note to say that the Facebook page for Proof-Ed is going to be unavailable for the foreseeable future as I would like to close my personal account which also means closing my Proof-Ed page. Any enquiries should be directed to me by email (sarah[at]proof-ed.com).

My availability for Proof-Ed will be increasing from around November 2017 when I am planning to begin working more full-time hours as a proofreader and editor after a successful couple of years thus far. Thank you for all of your custom getting me to this point. It is a pleasure to read your research and other writings.

Hi everyone. Thank you for visiting the website today. I just wanted to let you know that I am taking a short holiday from 1st – 9th of May so I will not be answering any emails during this time. I will respond to any queries when I return.

May is already fully booked, although I have some odd spaces for articles (less than 10,000 words ideally) or bibliographies, so it is worth getting in touch if you have an end-of-May/early-June deadline. June has lots of availability at the moment.

Please remember that it is never too soon to get in touch! I have a very busy schedule as Proof-Ed is only undertaken in the evenings and weekends (at the moment…) so I always appreciate as much warning as can be given. I hate to turn anyone down.

Hi everyone,

March is now fully booked along with the first week of April. I have availability for the following three weeks of April, but I would advise contacting me sooner rather than later if you would like some proofreading done during this time.

I will be having a small break from work for the first week of May, but will be taking on work from the 7th of May onwards.

As always, it’s never too early to reserve a space in my diary – I even have some work planned for 2018!
