My circumstances have changed slightly since the earlier post on Spring/Summer availability. Please see below for an update:
May: no availability
June: limited availability – short pieces only
July: limited availability – short pieces only
August: no availability for the first half, but I should have good availability from the second half of August into September
As always, contact me as soon as you can if you would like me to read something. I can reserve you a place in my diary. Often I am able to take on work at short notice (especially if it is a journal article or something of equally short length), but I can’t always make the deadlines if I am given just a couple of days to read, and I hate to disappoint!
If in doubt, don’t hesitate to just ask!
Sarah @ Proof-Ed.
An update on availability over the coming months:
April – no availability
May – no availability
June – some availability (especially for shorter pieces of work), please enquire sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment!
July – plenty of availability
August – some availability
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are wondering whether I might have time to read for you!
I apologise for the lack of availability in April and May as I know these are busy times for academics and students trying to complete work before the summer. I am working hard copyediting two large co-edited volumes and two single-authored monographs.
As always, thank you for visiting my site and considering my services.
Sarah @ Proof-Ed.
Just a little message to wish all of my customers a very Happy Christmas this year, and to thank you all for your custom and recommendations. I have had a very busy three months working on lots of different types of manuscripts and articles, and have received several new customers from Oslo and one from Oxford too. I am also delighted to be working on an Anthology of Craft and Science with various universities across Scandinavia in Spring 2019. Thank you to all of the individuals who have spread kind messages about my services. It is not always easy being self-employed and running a very small business (just me!), so truly, thank you to all those who have taken the step to contact me on someone else’s word, or from finding me on a search engine. I really appreciate it.
Wishing you all good tidings, good health, and happiness,
I realised it has been some time since I posted on my website (I’ve been posting fairly regularly on Twitter should you wish to follow me there: @another_tweeter).
I have been busy copyediting two books for Equinox Publishing (where I worked as a journal manager and editorial assistant until January 2018), both of which were sent to the printers on Tuesday. These are The Bible for the Curious: A Brief Encounter by the late Professor Philip Davies (which is due out in November: https://www.equinoxpub.com/home/the-bible-for-the-curious/) and Jews: Nearly Everything you Wanted To Know*… *but were too afraid to ask by Rabbi Dan Cohn-Sherbok and (philosopher) Peter Cave (also due out in November: https://www.equinoxpub.com/home/jews/). The latter also contains original cartoon illustrations by Dan Cohn-Sherbok (and lots of dry Jewish humour). I have enjoyed both tasks immensely and am very pleased with the final results of both. I am looking forward to seeing the printed copies very soon!
I have also started a new degree this September, studying Law at Manchester Metropolitan University. I hope to be able to offer proofing in this field soon, but want to familiarise myself a little more with Law before I offer this! As I am studying part time, I am still working as Proof-Ed during the day (and weekends…and any other time I may find!), so please get in touch if you would like me to read/edit/index for you!
Finally, please keep an eye on my “testimonials” page which I am updating with new comments in the near future.
Thank you for visiting my page, and I hope to read for you soon.
Thank you for visiting my pages.
I am fully booked for the remaining few days of April and the first week of May. After that, I have partial availability for the rest of May, and plenty of availability from June onwards. Please email me if you want to check my availability during these times.
Also, please do get in touch if you would like me to read your work over the summer. As I always say, “it is never too early to organise a reader!”
With kind regards,
I have some availability for March, particularly for articles and chapters, but it is best to get in touch with any queries if you would like me to fit you in at this time.
I have lots of availability for April due to a customer’s book deadline unexpectedly changing, so do feel free to contact me with projects for April. It’s never too early!
With kind regards,
Wishing all of my customers and new visitors to the website a very happy 2018. I hope the year has got off to a good start for you all.
From the beginning of February 2018 I have started a more full-time role at Proof-Ed which will free me up to accept a lot more work from customers than I have previously been able to take on. I am looking forward to reading new research and theses this year, and would be delighted to hear from you, whether you are a new customer or a returning one.
I would like to say a big thank you to my customers of 2017, particularly to those who have very kindly recommended my service to their friends and colleagues. It is a pleasure to be acquainted with you and to have the privilege of reading the research that you have worked so hard on.
With kind regards,
Thank you for visiting my site today!
Unfortunately, I am unable to take on any work during November 2017 and possibly early December 2017 due to an existing commitment . Please feel free to contact me about this and to enquire about my schedule for the coming months. It is possible that bibliographies, short articles or single chapters can be considered.
I will be working from mid-December onwards (and possibly earlier).
With kind regards,
Just a post to update you on my current and future availability.
August, September and October are now fully booked. Early November has received enquiries, so I am cautious about advertising this as free space at the moment. Article requests are welcome as there is a possibility I can fit them in. The latter half of November is currently free, as is December.
As always, just to reiterate that it is never too early to reserve a space in my schedule. It is always better to do this sooner rather than later, particularly with documents which are over 40,000 words.
Thank you for visiting my website and I hope to read some of your work soon!
Just a short note to say that the Facebook page for Proof-Ed is going to be unavailable for the foreseeable future as I would like to close my personal account which also means closing my Proof-Ed page. Any enquiries should be directed to me by email (sarah[at]proof-ed.com).
My availability for Proof-Ed will be increasing from around November 2017 when I am planning to begin working more full-time hours as a proofreader and editor after a successful couple of years thus far. Thank you for all of your custom getting me to this point. It is a pleasure to read your research and other writings.
With best wishes,
